Why Storytelling?

The power of storytelling has inspired me to move into a world where nothing need stop the flow of our imaginations.

Storytelling is one of the oldest traditions we have and every story told has so much potency and relevance.

The possibilities that grow from stories are endless and each one will mean something different to everyone that hears it.

"This is where the purpose of my storytelling begins."

"How do you become a storyteller?"

This is a question I asked myself when I began wandering down this path and I realised that I have always been a storyteller. We are all storytellers. We just need someone to facilitate our entry into the world.
The reason why I have decided to let my passion for it takeover is because I know that the skills I have and the fire of enthusiasm that defines me can make such a difference to the children that I work with.

In my time of telling stories with children, I have found they are instantly inspired to do something of their own because of it; whether that's to tell their own story, write an alternative ending, draw what they imagine, act out the scenes in the playground or just ask for it to be repeated over and over. This is where the purpose of my storytelling begins.

“There’s always room for a story that can transport people to another place.” – J.K. Rowling
